X Rays and Ultrasound

X Rays of a pet

It is possible for our team to take X-rays in order to investigate the cause of various problems your pet may present with. X-rays are very useful for checking for broken bones but can also be used to assess the chest and abdominal organs. X-rays give valuable information with regards to organ shape, size and position.

An ultrasound (scan/Echo) can also be carried out in order to get a more detailed look inside the organ of interest. Ultrasound is also very useful for detecting fluid within the chest and abdomen.

In order to achieve very high quality images it is often necessary to sedate the patient. It is also illegal for a vet/nurse to hold an animal when an x-ray is being taken. This is for the vet/nurses safety.
